Red-tagged at the scales?
Don't call a tow. Call us.
An out-of-service order doesn't have to mean a tow bill and a lost day. RES Heavy comes to the San Onofre inspection facility, repairs the violation on site, and gets you released and rolling.
From red tag to released
Call or text us
Tell us what the inspector wrote you up for. A photo of the violation or the CVSA sticker helps us bring the right parts the first time.
We come to the facility
We're based in San Clemente, just up the road from the San Onofre scales, with a fully equipped service truck: tools, parts, and crane on board.
Fixed, cleared, rolling
We repair the violation on site (brakes, air leaks, lights, tires, steering and more) so you can be released and finish your run.
Common out-of-service repairs
Most red tags come down to a short list. We fix all of it on site:
30+ years of DOT & CHP compliance work, including CHP compliance repairs for commercial fleets. We know exactly what the inspector needs to see to release you.
FAQ
Do I have to tow my truck if it's red-tagged?
No. An out-of-service order means the truck can't move until the violation is fixed, but it can be repaired right where it sits. A mobile repair at the facility is usually faster and far cheaper than a heavy tow plus a shop visit.
How fast can you get there?
We're based in San Clemente, minutes from the San Onofre facility, and run 24/7 emergency dispatch. Call (949) 998-6308 and we'll give you a straight answer on timing before we roll.
What should I have ready when I call?
The inspection report or a photo of it, your truck/trailer make and model, and a callback number. That's enough for us to load the right parts and head your way.
Do you handle trailers too?
Yes. Tractors and trailers both, including brakes, lights, air systems, wheel ends, and coupling devices. Step deck, flatbed, and RGN trailers are old friends.
Stuck at San Onofre right now?
Call or text and we'll get moving. A photo of the violation speeds everything up.
